Drama in Chicago
On such a day each of the runners probably wished they only had to run the final 385 yards and not the 26 miles before that.
Men's winner Patrick Ivuti of Kenya won a see-saw duel with two-time IAAF World Marathon champion Jaouad Gharib of Morocco by finding just enough to surge past Gharib at the tape in 2:11:11.
Defending women's champion Berhane Adere of Ethiopia made up 30 seconds in the last two kilometres, most of it down final, strait to blow past a shocked Adriana Pirtea of Romania in the final 50 metres to win by three seconds in 2:33:49.

Hi Yomi, Sorry I can't think of another way of contacting you. You contacted me through Ecademy once but as I'm not yet a power member I can't contact you through edademy. I happened to notice that you have a blog going here on Blogger as indeed I have. I wanted to ask you some questions about developing your blog. I've tried various avenues for the information I seek but being a newby, I really haven't understood the information and know I would learn better with some one on one with someone. If you think you can help, please do contact me through ecademy. I would really appreciate it. Yvonne Mahoney
